This is my 9th year at LCM High School. I am also starting my 11th year of teaching at Lamar Institute of Technology. I also taught for 8 years at Lamar University. For the past few years I have the pleasure of teaching Dual Enrolled U.S. History, through Stephen F. Austin State University. But this year I am excited to be teaching through Lamar University. I also teach Honors U.S. HistoryII, STAAR U.S. History, and Debate. I look forward to meeting all of my students and having a great and productive year.
This year I am also the UIL Coach for Debate and U.S. History. I am also helping out with Grizzly Crew and Honor Society.
I began teaching at Lamar Univeristy and Lamar Institute of Technology in the Fall of 2011.
I also student taught at Mauriceville Middle School, with Ms. Judy Brown as my mentor teacher.
In college I was a Graduate Assitant for the History Department and was also a Teacher’s Assistant for Dr. Jeff Forret in his Jacksonian American class.
I have also worked for the Beaumont Heritage Society as a Docent at the John J. French House and Museum.
I have been happily married to my husband Paul since January 4 1999. Paul works as a Firefighter/Arson investigator for the City of Port Arthur. We have 2 children, Katelynn (Katie) and Ethan. Katie graduated from LCM this past year and is now attending SFA, where she is studying marketing. My son Ethan is starting the 7th grade at MMS. We have 1dog named Abby, she is a 10 year old chocolate lab and three cats named Ziva, Binx and Gibbs.
When I am not teaching I love to read!!! I read all kinds of books, if you know of a good one let me know!!! I have also love to binge watch shows on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. I love to travel and see new things. I also like to spend time with my husband and kids.
