This is my 11th year at LCM High School. I am also taught at Lamar Institute of Technology for 12 years and at Lamar University for 8 years. For the past few years, I have had the pleasure of teaching Dual Enrolled U.S. History, through Stephen F. Austin State University. But this year I am excited to be teaching through LSCO. I also teach Honors U.S. HistoryII, U.S. History, and Honors Economics and Debate. I look forward to meeting all of my students and having a great and productive year.
I began teaching at Lamar Univeristy and Lamar Institute of Technology in the Fall of 2011.
I also student taught at Mauriceville Middle School, with Ms. Judy Brown as my mentor teacher.
In college I was a Graduate Assitant for the History Department and was also a Teacher’s Assistant for Dr. Jeff Forret in his Jacksonian American class.
I have also worked for the Beaumont Heritage Society as a Docent at the John J. French House and Museum.
I have been happily married to my husband Paul since January 4 1999. Paul works as a Firefighter/Arson investigator for the City of Port Arthur. We have 2 children, Katelynn (Katie) and Ethan. Katie graduated from LCM in 2021 and is now attending SFA, where she is studying marketing. My son Ethan is starting the 9th grade at LCM. We have 4 cats, Gibbs, Binx, Ziva, and Beans, along with 7 chickens.
When I am not teaching I love to read!!! I read all kinds of books, if you know of a good one let me know!!! I have also love to binge watch shows on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. I love to travel and see new things. I also like to spend time with my husband and kids.
