Marcus James
Associate Director of Bands

​A native of Orange County, Marcus joined the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Band staff in July 2022. Prior to his time at LCM, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lamar University in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While at Lamar University, Marcus performed for the Showcase of Southeast Texas Marching Band and was the principal euphonium of the Lamar University Wind Ensemble. Marcus is a brother of the Eta Mu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and his professional memberships include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Association of Texas Small School Bands, and the Texas Bandmasters Association. He is also currently working as the Assistant Director of Sacred Music at St. Anthony's Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont. Marcus loves to read, cook, and spend time at home with his wife, Kaitlyn, whom he married in 2021.
