VARSITY BASEBALL SELECTED BEARS AOW
April 28 – Congratulations to our Varsity Baseball Team for being selected as the LCM Bears Athletes of the Week. It takes every man in the clubhouse day in & day out to win a District Championship. It's impossible to name just one Bear to be recognized because of the combined effort it took from opening day throughout district. The Bears clinched their first district title since 2007 by shutting out the Bridge City Cardinals on the road and then by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th (all with 2 outs) to extend the game & walk it off in the 8th inning.
SOFTBALL TRIO SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW
April 28 – Congratulations to Lexis Moss, Tessa Erickson, & Ella Stephenson for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athletes of the Week. In the last two games, these 3 girls combined for 9 hits & 5 of those hits were home runs. Lexis went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs & 4 RBI’s, Tessa went 4 for 7 with 1 home run, a triple & 2 singles with 5 RBI’s, and Ella went 2 for 6 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI’s. The Lady Bears scored 23 runs in two games. Ella & Tessa both pitched and only gave up 1 earned run in 12 innings.
LADY BEARS SWEEP HUDSON FOR BI-DISTRICT TITLE
April 26 (Jasper) – The Lady Bears (28-4-1) swept Hudson in two games for the Bi-District Championship. LCM beat Hudson 11-2 in game two on Saturday to advance to Area. Ella Stephenson hit two home runs and had 5 RBI’s, Lexis Moss and Tessa Erickson both hit a home run in the first. Erickson went all 7 innings and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits 3 strikeouts and 1 walk. The Lady Bears were dominate in their 12-2 win in game one on Thursday. Lexis Moss was 2-2 with a HR and 3RBI's and Tessa Erickson was 2-3 with a triple and 4RBI's. Stephenson got the five inning victory, giving up no earned runs.
BEARS WIN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP IN DRAMATIC STYLE
April 25 (LCM) – LCM claimed the district title with a dramatic come from behind 11-10 win over the Bridge City Cardinals. The Bears had a 5-1 lead after three when the Cardinal scored six runs in the fourth to take a 7-5 lead. Bridge City added three more in the seventh to make it 10-5. The Bears scored five runs in the seventh to tie and then Dreyden Cook hit a sac fly in the eighth to score Clay Darby for the win.
BEAR TENNIS COMPETES AT DISTRICT

April 25 – Bear Tennis competed in the District Tournament on Thursday and Friday. The Bears had an outstanding showing and finished with several medalists. Luke Scott and Sam Barnes took 3rd Place Boys Doubles. Arelly Delafuente placed 3rd Place Girls Singles. Carson Forester won 1st Place Boys Singles and Jace Benton and Sarah Barnes won 1st Place Mixed Doubles. Forester, Benton, and Barnes are Regionals Bound and will compete in Bryan-College Station on May 7-8.
BEARS GET BIG WIN OVER CARDINALS
April 22 (Bridge City) – The Bears took game one of the district championship series with a big 3-0 win over the Bridge City Cardinals. Parker Seago (above) had a huge night on the mound with a complete game shutout.
