2021-2022 Information

How do I find out if I need this course for my major in college?
Visit the college website and in the catalog you should find the courses required by your college to graduate with your major. Look to see if the courses from the transfer information above are required. Usually, courses in history, English, math, science, and government are needed by most college graduates. If your major specializes in one of these areas, you may want to be sure the course(s) below are the correct science, math, etc., you will need FOR YOUR MAJOR. You may prefer to take the course in high school as an honors course to get a foundation so you will be more successful in the advanced courses in your field. College catalogs with degree plans for several colleges can be found here.

Will these DE courses transfer to “my” college (or complete a specific course requirement in my degree plan)?
To see if a different college gives credit for or has a different number for one of the following courses through Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar University, Stephen F. Austin State University, and/or The University of Texas at Tyler, please check the Texas Common Course Numbering System here. If you choose Compare Schools, and put either Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar University, Stephen F. Austin State University, or The University of Texas-Tyler in one box and the college you are wanting to attend in the other, the grid will show you what will transfer to your college of choice. The left column shows the state Common Course. If the middle and right columns have courses, then they are transferable/replace a specific course in your degre plan. If no courses are listed, please check with your college to be sure they will accept these credits. The credits that don’t replace a specific course may be used as elective courses in your degree plan.

Some colleges/universities (listed below) have an online transfer course webpage. Be sure to check to see if these courses will replace a course at your intended receiving institution. If no courses are listed, please check with your college to be sure they will accept these credits.

See your Counselor or Ms. Brown in the Counselors’ Office if you have any questions!

COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT REQUEST

When you apply for college, you can request your “current” college transcript through the links below. You will not have grades on your college transcript if you are still taking the class – grades are posted to the college transcript when the class is completed.

After you graduate from high school, after your final COLLEGE semester grades are posted, you will also have to submit a transcript request to the college that gave you dual-enroll college credit (LSCO, SFA, LU, and/or UT Tyler) to send your official FINAL college transcript to the college(s) you plan to attend after graduation:

  1. LSCO – official transcripts  (Option 1 – through Blackboard, Option 2 – LSCO login, Option 3 – Request via Email)
  2. Lamar University – official transcripts
  3. SFA – official transcripts
  4. UT Tyler – official transcripts (Click on National Clearinghouse link in paragraph – then the Order-Track-Verify button at right on top menu)
