2024-2025 Projects

Thanksgiving Food Baskets with Be Blessed Orange

Nov. 11, 2024: Interact spent about $90 to buy the sides and desserts for 7 Thanksgiving food baskets for the Be Blessed Orange recipients.

Sabine Place Halloween Project:

Oct 29, 2024: Interact students packed bags of candy and snacks with handwritten cards and delivered them to the residents of the Sabine Place Assisted Living Center. We used about $200 of our past fundraiser money to purchase the candy and snacks.

Breast Cancer Awareness:

Oct 8, 2024: Interact students wrote 60 cards of encouragement to a Sommer Reynolds who is currently in radiation for breast cancer. She is the mother of two Interact students and an LCM staff member. Interact bought her a $100 Carrabba’s gift card for a date night out during breast cancer awareness month. 

Friends Thru The Fight, Inc

Oct 7, 2024: Interact donated $1350 (all of the proceeds from our pink out/senior night t-shirt sales) to Friends Thru the Fight to help Galveston County women who are undergoing breast cancer treatments.

Julie Rogers Gift of Life:

Oct 4, 2024: Interact student passed the pink buckets throughout the stands at the Pink Out football game and collected $522.68 from bear fans to be donated to Juilie Rogers Gift of Life to provide mammograms for underserved women in our area. Interact added a donation to it to total $525 to Julie Rogers. 

Senior Night Shirts:

Sep 2024: Interact designed and sold pink out shirts for the senior night football game to students and community members to raise money that will be donated. Interact also bought and bagged up the colored powder that was provided to the student section at the football game to throw in a display at the end of the game.

 

2023-2024 Projects

 

Diaper/Wipes Donation:

May 2024: Interact bought $105 worth of Huggies diapers and wipes to be donated to an LCM student who is a new mom.

LCM HS Staff Appreciation:

May 2024: Interact bought and delivered breakfast burritos to all LCM HS staff for staff  appreciation week. The officers did the deliveries during advisory and gave pinatas full of candy to 4 lucky winners!

ROC Wheels, Inc

Apr. 2024: ROC Wheels (Reach Out & Care Wheels) is a faith-based non-profit 501(c)(3) located in Bozeman, Montana that provides wheelchairs and gait trainers to children who need them around the world. Interact donated $500 toward their mission of providing wheelchairs to children in Mexico and the Ukraine. 

Birthright of Orange:

Mar. 2024: Interact purchased $225 worth of diaper cream, assorted diapers, pacifiers, and hooded towels.

Stable Spirits Equine Therapy:

Mar. 2024: Stable Spirits inspires positive mental, physical, and emotional health through professionally guided interactions with horses in Vidor, TX. Interact purchased $418.26 worth of needed lead ropes, hula hoops, pool noodles, scented balls, horse brushes, horse fly spray, and cat food for the cats that live there. 

Utah’s Intermountain Health Life Flight K9 Program:

Mar. 2024: Interact purchased over $525 worth of medical supplies to donate to this life flight program that rushes aid to Utah’s K9 officers injured in the line of duty or injured with search and rescue. This new program is only the 3rd of it’s kind in the USA and will life flight any service K9 in the state of Utah to get it the medical care needed. 

Orange Lions Club:

Feb. 2024: Interact purchased $500 worth of carnival prizes to donate to the Orange Lions Club to offset their cost of the carnival so that they can give back more money to the community.

First Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen:

Feb. 2024: $500 donation given to support the soup kitchen that feeds the homeless/underserved population in Orange twice a week.

Harvest House:

Jan. 30, 2024: Interact Officers and sponsors attended the Gala at the Elegante Hotel where our club was a sponsor of the event. We were able to donate $2125 to the Harvest House to support their mission to end child sex trafficking in our area.

LCM Winter Formal Dance:

Jan. 13, 2024: Interact hosted the Winter Formal Dance for our high school students and we made a profit of $6438.

Sabine Place “Adopt a Senior” Christmas project:

Dec. 20, 2023: Interact took 3 names off the Sabine Place Christmas tree and bought the residents Christmas gifts off their wish list and delivered them for their party.

Sabine Place Assisted Living Christmas Project:

Dec. 9, 2023: Interact purchased 30 plush Christmas blankets and went to the facility to sing Christmas carols to the residents and gift them each a blanket.

Dog Blanket Project:

Dec. 5, 2023: Interact purchased the fleece and made 30 fleece dog blankets that were donated to Traci James, a local woman who rescues homeless dogs and gets them the care they need. .

Sabine Place Assisted Living Halloween Project:

Oct. 30, 2023: Interact bought almost $200 worth of halloween candy and gift bags that were stuffed and delivered to the residents.

Senior Night Shirts:

Oct. 27, 2023: Interact designed and sold long sleeve shirts for the senior night football game to students and community members to raise money that will be donated to the Harvest House. Interact also bought and bagged up the colored powder that was provided to the student section at the football game to throw in a display at the end of the game. 

Julie Rogers Gift of Life:

Oct. 16, 2023: Interact student passed the pink buckets throughout the stands at the Pink Out football game and collected $358.33 from bear fans to be donated to Juilie Rogers Gift of Life to provide mammograms for underserved women in our area. Interact added a donation to it to total $500 to Julie Rogers. 

Hey You Movement Homeless project:

Sep. 2023: Interact purchased $188 in hygiene supplies for the homeless giveaway in downtown Beaumont. Several students and sponsor worked the event feeding the homeless and giving away supplies with the Hey You Movement. 

 

 

2022-2023 Projects

 

LCM HS Faculty/Staff Appreciation:

May 2023: We purchased and delivered Tacos la Shula breakfast burritos for all faculty and staff in appreciation of what they do every day for us. We bought bags full of candy with handwritten cards to our campus ETs and Cafeteria ladies.

Meals on Wheels:

April 2023: Donated $500 to help provide meals for local seniors through the Meals on Wheels program in Orange. 

LCM Lady Bear Soccer Project:

April 2023: Made a snack basket with good luck cards for our soccer team’s regional playoff game.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

March 2023: Interact used  proceeds from our Winter Formal to purchase and donate twin sheets and pillows to be used with the beds that they build for local children in need. 

Birthright of Orange

March 2023: Interact went shopping for and delivered a vehicle full of the following supplies to Birthright in Orange: bibs, onesises, outfits, socks, diappers, wipes, lotions, baby oil, shampoo, bottles, bottle brushes, pacifiers, teethers, and some toys. Birthright supports women in our area with unplanned pregnancies. 

Hey You MVMT

February 2023: Interact donated $1000 from our Winter Formal proceeds to support this ministry that reaches the homeless population in our area. 

Harvest House Ministry

February 2023: Interact donated $1000 from our fundraisers to this ministry to help end sex trafficking in our area. 

Sabine Place Assisted Living Home

February 2023: Interact put together Valentine gift bags for the residents of the Sabine Place with profit from our senior night shirt sales. Students wrote each of the 30 residents a letter to be included in the bags. Bags included shampoo, deoderant, lotion, valentine’s socks, and a heart shaped box of candy. 

Winter Formal

January 14, 2023: Interact hosted the LCM HS Winter Formal as a fundraiser. We sold 360 tickets and make a record profit of $7018.

Dog Blankets

December 2022: Interact students made over 50 fleece dog blankets that we donated to Traci James. We purchased the supplies with profits from our senior night shirt sales.  Mrs. James rescues dogs in the local area and provides for their medical care and daily needs.

Senior Night Shirt Fundraiser

November 2022: We designed and sold senior night shirts for our football game to our students and fans. Interact provided white colored powder to the student section to raise school spirit. Money raised from the shirts will help fund our future projects.

Julie Rogers Gift of Life

October 21, 2022: Interact members passed the pink buckets in the stands during our PINK OUT football game to collect money for Julie Rogers Gift of Life. We collected $454.20 and donated $500 to the Gift of Life. 

Pulsera Project

September 2022: The Interact Club participated in the Pulsera Project that supports local artisans from Nicaragua and Guatemala. We sold their handmade bracelets to our staff and students to raise money to directly support the communities the artisans live in. We donated $780 to the Project. 

 

2021-2022 Projects

Rotary Meeting

April 19, 2022: Interact officers attended the Rotary Meeting and were the guest speakers to inform the club what about our projects this school year.

Mutt Mats T-shirt Drive

April ‘22: Interact collected and donated an entire SUV full of used tshirts that were donated to Mutt Mats in Bridge City to be repurposed into dog mats for shelter dogs.

Galveston Central Church’s Homeless Ministry:

March ‘22: Interact donated $95 to complete the funding of a wheelchair ramp for this outreach program that works with the homeless community. The program provides hot meals, healthcare, showers, and a bicycle repair shop.  The ramp will provide access for people with walkers or wheelchairs.

The Water Project: Kenya, Africa:

Feb. ‘22: Interact donated $6000 from our Winter Formal Dance to fund a borehole water well for the Shaviringia Primary School in Kenya, Africa. 

Harvest House Gala:

Jan ‘22: Interact Officers, sponsors, and a couple of other students attended the Gala at the Elegante Hotel on 1.25.22 where our club was a sponsor of the event. We were able to donate $1250 to the Harvest House to support their mission to end child trafficking in our area.

Winter Formal Dance:

Jan ‘22: Interact sponsored the Winter Semi-Formal Dance in the high school cafeteria to raise money for future projects on 1.15.22 from 8:30-11:00 for all 9th-12th grade students. We had a record turnout of about 400 students and made $6100 in profit!

Optimist Village “Adopt a Senior” for Christmas:

Dec ‘21: Interact adopted a senior citizen at the Optimist Village in Orange to buy his wish list items for Christmas. The gifts were delivered for the Christmas party held at the Village.

Animal Shelter Project:

Dec ‘21: Interact purchased the fleece for our students to make blankets for our local animal shelter to place in dog’s crates. Interact students delivered the blankets and dog toys that were purchased with past fundraiser money to the Southeast Texas Humane Society in Beaumont. 

Playoff Football Games:

Nov-Dec ‘21: Interact purchased 300 thunder sticks for the LCM fans for the Round 3 playoff game and 200 thunder sticks for the Round 4 game. These were distributed in the stands to build spirit.

Military Christmas Project

November 2021: We paid for and shipped 300 Christmas treat boxes to our military in Korea where we partnered with some women on the ground there to fill them with Christmas treats for our soldiers stationed there. Our student wrote and mailed letters of encouragement to be included in the boxes. 

Senior Night Shirts

Oct 29, 2021: Interact designed and sold senior night shirts for our White Out football game to our students and fans. Interact provided white thunder sticks and colored powder to the student section to raise school spirit. Money raised from the shirts will help fund our future projects. 

Julie Rogers Gift of Life

Oct 15, 2021: Interact passed the buckets and took up a donation at our Pink Out football game that was donated to Gift of Life to provide mammograms and breast cancer support to underserved women in our area. We collected $535.00.

Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club

Oct 10, 2021: Interact partnered with Orange Rotary to adopt the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club for United Way’s Day of Caring. We purchased 19 games and a few books to donate to the preK-5th grade children that attend that program. 

Orangetober Festival

Oct 2, 2021: Interact helped staff the Orange Rotary Booth at the festival where we sold caramel dipped apples to raise money for scholarships for graduating seniors.

Stadium Cleanup

Sep 24, 2021: Interact cleaned up the football stadium after the Homecoming game so that the student section could pop confetti cannons.

LCM Staff Appreciation/Back to School:

August 2021: Interact gave staff members a note of encouragement with a back to school snack in their mailboxes.

Lions Club Carnival:

July 2021: Interact Officers volunteered in the Lions Club Carnival Goldfish Booth alongside our Orange Rotarians to serve our community.

 

2020-2021 Projects

India’s Coronavirus Emergency Response:

May 2021: LCM Interact donated $250 to World Vision’s India Coronavirus Emergency Response that was matched dollar for dollar to total $500. It helped provide oxygen, bed and tents for emergency health facilities, and more. 

Sabine Place of Orange:

March 2021: Interact collected and donated puzzles and word searches for the residents of this assisted living home in Orange.

Valentine’s Project for Widows:

Feb 2021: Interact partnered with our art teacher, Betsy Kaufman, to create valentine’s bookmarks to go in gift bags for the widows of First Baptist Church in Orange. 

Orange Rotary Meeting

January 2021: Our officers, sponsors, and principal attended the Rotary meeting to update them on our projects this year. 

Anayet House-Beaumont

November 2020: We participated in the United Way of Orange County’s Virtual Week of Caring. We bought a car load full of individually wrapped snacks to be placed in the family member’s rooms at the Anayet House to encourage social distancing. The Anayet House allows families of loved ones in the ICU to stay close by the hospital without spending much money. 

Dog Blankets for Local Animal Shelters

November 2020: Interact students made and donated fleece blankets

Senior Night Shirt Fundraiser/Colored powder

October 2020: The Interact Club designed and sold tie dyed spirit shirts for the senior night football game on Nov. 6th. Proceeds from the shirt sale helped buy fleece for our dog blanket project. Interact provided colored powder to the student section for a spirited display at the end of the game and helped clean up the stands after it. 

Ben and Julie Rogers Cancer Center-Beaumont

September 2020: The Interact Club bought and donated about 150 adult coloring books, sodoku books, crossword puzzles, word search books, crayons, and map pencils for the patients who come in for chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The students wrote cards of encouragement for the patients as well. 

The Pulsera Project

September 2020: The Interact Club participated in the Pulsera Project that supports local artisans from Nicaragua and Guatemala. We sold their handmade bracelets to our staff and students to raise money to directly support the communities the artisans live in. We donated $1755 to the Project. 

 

2019-2020 Projects

The Harvest House Project

January 2020: The Interact Club donated $1300 from our Winter Formal to the Harvest House in Beaumont to help local victims of sex trafficking. Our 2 sponsors and 8 officers/members attended the Harvest House 2020 Gala held at the Elegante Hotel and learned more about the work they do in our area.

LCM Winter Semi Formal

January 2020: Interact hosted our second annual Winter Formal at LCM high school in the cafeteria on 1/18/20 from 8:30-11:00 for all 9-12th grade students.  We had a great turnout and made a profit of over $1700 on tickets and drinks that were sold at the dance. This money will be used to help fund future projects.

LCM HS Staff Project

December 2019: Interact gave each high school staff member a coupon for a free large Sonic drink as a Christmas gift to thank them for all they do for our students.

Animal Shelter Project

November 2019: Interact students made and donated almost 100 fleece blankets to the Southeast Texas Humane Society in Beaumont to be distributed to local animal shelters as needed for winter. 

Rotary’s End Polio Now

November 2019: Interact donated $200 to Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign to provide polio vaccines to needy countries. Our donation was tripled by the Bill Gates Foundation making our donation $600. 

Julie Rogers Gift of Life

October 2019: Interact donated $200 to the Gift of Life to provide mammograms to underserved women in our area from our fundraisers. 

Senior Night Shirt Fundraiser

October 2019: Interact sold senior night spirit shirts to raise money to be able to donate to charities and buy fleece for dog blanket project. Interact provided colored powder to be thrown at the end of the football game in the student section to celebrate senior night.

Stadium Clean Up

October 11, 2019: Interact club cleaned up the stadium after the football game in order for the student section to be able to pop confetti cannons. 

Hurricane Dorian – Bahamas

September 2019: Interact club collected and donated $400 to World Hope International to directly provide relief from Hurricane Dorian to the Bahamian people. 

2018-2019 Projects

Project for Layne Chesney

March 2019: Interact sent Layne, a 16 year old burned victim from Florida who was now at Shriners Hospital in Galveston, a care package full of books, handwritten cards, and pictures to help brighten her spirits.  Layne passed away in May while still being hospitalized at Shriners. 

The Water Project

Feb, 2019:  Interact fundraised online, collected money in a water jar during lunches, used $1000 of proceeds from senior night tshirt sales, and used all proceeds from Winter Formal dance to donate a total of $5070 to The Water Project to benefit the Lwakhupa Primary School in Kenya near the border of Uganda. This will provide a rainwater catchment system, handwashing stations, latrines, and sanitation training to benefit the 2000+ students and staff. This international project was a huge undertaking that our students are very proud of!

Winter Formal Dance

Feb. 2, 2019: Interact hosted our first ever Winter Semi-Formal Dance at the high school for all 9-12th   grade students and their dates. All proceeds from the dance were donated to our Water Project. 

Sabine Place Christmas Project

Dec. 7, 2018: The Interact Club brought Christmas socks, light up necklaces, and cards to the residents of The Sabine Place assisted living center in Orange. 

Mixer at LCM High School

Nov. 15, 2018: LCM’s Interact club hosted our first mixer at LCM with 200 students consisting of LCM and six other local Interact Clubs. We put together kits with blankets, stuffed bears, and snacks to benefit the Rainbow Room in Orange. This organization is who provides for children when they are taken from their homes due to CPS concerns. 

Cajun Navy Supply Drive for Hurricane Michael Victims

Nov. 2018: LCM Interact students collected supplies to be brought to Florida for Hurricane Michael Victims. The Cajun Navy picked up the supplies and delivered them for us. 

LCM Stadium Clean up Project

Oct. 19th: LCM Interact students did stadium clean up on Friday after the pinkout football game. They cleaned up confetti from the student’s confetti cannons. 

Breast Cancer Local Project

October 2018: Interact sold pink confetti cannons to the student body to have a pink confetti display at the “Pink Out” football game to raise awareness for breast cancer. Key Club partnered with us to sell pom poms and cups at the game as well as help pass a donation bucket. All of the money raised was donated to Julie Rogers Gift of Life in Beaumont to help underserved women get mammograms and breast cancer treatment that they desperately need. LCM’s community raised $621.90!

LCM Cafeteria Project

October 2018: Interact donated a new microwave to the new cafeteria for student use during lunches. 

Senior Night Shirt Fundraiser

LCM Interact made and sold spirit shirts for the senior night football game. Interact provided colored powder for the student section to throw at the end of the game. Interact donated $1000 of the shirt sales to the Water Project campaign for a water well in Africa. 

LCM Stadium Clean up Project

Sep. 25, 2018: LCM Interact Students did stadium clean-up on Friday after the home football game. They cleaned up confetti from the student’s confetti cannons as well as the trash left in the stands. 

Interact Officer Training Service Project

Aug. 11, 2018: Our Interact officers attended a District wide training at Lone Star College in the Woodlands where we participated in a project that raised $705 to buy windows for an orphanage in Nicaragua.

2017-2018 Projects

Stay & Play Fundraiser

Apr 21, 2018: Interact students joined forces with Orange Rotary to host a link sale at First Financial Bank to raise funds for LCI’s Stay & Play playground.​

United Way Fundraiser

Feb. 10, 2018: Interact students worked the United Way Fundraiser held at the VFW Hall in Orange for the “Dueling Pianos” dinner. 

Dog Blankets

Feb 2018: Students made fleece dog blankets during a meeting to deliver to local animal shelters.

Rotary Meeting Luncheon

Feb 6, 2018: The Interact Officers were invited as guests to the Orange Rotary weekly meeting to meet our local Rotarians who support us and have lunch with them. The Interact Officers were the speaker for the day and each gave a report of what projects LCM Interact has been involved in this year.

Rotary’s “End Polio Now” Fundraiser

January 10, 2018: Interact sold pizza during lunch to students and staff with all proceeds going for much needed polio vaccines throughout the world. We raised $283.

Local First Responder Project

December 6, 2017: Interact stuffed Christmas candy goody bags and wrote thank you cards to our local first responders at the Fire Dept and Police Dept who helped our community during Hurricane Harvey. The items were delivered by the Interact students. 

Stadium Clean-Up Local Project

October 27, 2017: LCM Interact Students did stadium clean-up one Friday after the home football game. They cleaned up confetti from the student’s confetti cannons as well as the trash left in the stands. 

Breast Cancer Local Project

October 27, 2017: Interact sold pink confetti cannons to the student body for a pink confetti display at the “Pink Out” football game.  All proceeds from the cannons were donated to Julie Rogers Gift of Life in Beaumont in the amount of $501.55.

 

2016-2017 Projects

LCM HS Staff Appreciation

May 2017: “End of year survival” goodie bags were made for 139 staff at LCM HS and 17 staff at LCM Administration building from Interact students. We had items donated from Neighbors ER Clinic, Subway, Sonic, Whataburger, Shiver Shack, and the Jumping Bean in addition to kleenex provided by Interact. The bags were delivered for Staff Appreciation week.

Rotary Meeting Luncheon

Our President and Vice President attending the May 9th Rotary meeting to update our Rotarians on the Spring LCM Interact projects and to thank them for providing up with a Four Way Test Banner for our meeting space.

Harvest House in Beaumont

April 2017: Hundreds of bags of individual sized toiletries and a $100 donation were given to the Harvest House in Beaumont that works with local sex trafficking victims to get them back on their feet again.

Rotary’s  “End Polio Now” Fundraiser

Feb 22, 2017: Interact students sold pizza as a fundraiser during both lunches at the high school to raise money for much needed polio vaccines throughout the world. We raised $279.50. A donation of $300 was made to the Rotary based “End Polio Now” program from LCM Interact.

Humane Society of Southeast Texas: Dog Blankets

Jan 2017: The Interact students made 35-40 fleece blankets during the January meeting to deliver to a local animal shelters for winter. Interact paid for the fleece for the project. On Feb 5th, students delivered the blankets to the Humane Society in Beaumont where they got to tour the facility, interact with the dogs, and learn about their organization. Interact plans to support this organization on a yearly basis after our visit. 

Rotary Meeting Luncheon

Dec. 6, 2016: The Interact Officers and Sponsors were invited as guests to the Orange Rotary weekly meeting to meet our local Rotarians who support us and have lunch with them. The Interact Officers were the speaker for the day and each gave a report of what projects LCM Interact has been involved in this year.

Mixer at Kelly High School

Nov. 17, 2016: 11 Interact students participated in our first mixer at Kelly High School with other Interactors from Kelly, Bob Hope, Orangefield, Liberty, Westbrook, Lumberton, and Vidor! We collected toilet paper rolls and Interact purchased our candy, wrapping paper, and ribbon to make candy rolls. The candy was delivered over the Christmas season to the Sabine Place, LCM staff members, and our construction workers at LCM.

Rotary Canned Food Drive

November 2016:Interact participated in the Orange Rotary FOOD DRIVE and collected 50 pounds of food to benefit Orange Christian Services and the Salvation Army. Interact students teamed up with Orange Rotarians on Dec. 16th and delivered the food to both local charities.

Veterans Local Project

November 2016: Interact wrote letters to Mr. Gardner Hill, a 92 year old World War 2 Veteran from the Naval Air Force. He is a resident in a nursing home with no family or friends to visit him. He loves receiving mail! Interact purchased the stationary and stamps to mail these letters on a daily basis for over 2.5 months straight. 

Active Military Project

November 2016: LCM Interact “adopted” the 200 sailors aboard the USS Jacksonville (The JAX) nuclear submarine and collected candy and gum for them. LCI’s staff members joined in the efforts and donated candy, too! We had the box hand delievered to their submarine for their 7 month deployment out of Pearl Harbor. We also included notes of encouragement and letters for the sailors. Interact paid for cards that were sent. 

Stadium Clean-Up Local Project

October 2016: LCM Interact Students did stadium clean-up on two Fridays after the home football games. They cleaned up confetti from the student’s confetti cannons as well as the trash left in the stands.

LCE and MVE’s PTO moms sold face art to students on that Friday as well to give all of their proceeds to Interact. LCM’s community raised $1734.50!
