BEARS PLAY IN HJ TOURNEY
December 14 – Friday, the Bears opened play in the Hardin-Jefferson Varsity Tournament with a 69-54 loss to host Hardin-Jefferson. LCM was led by Jonah Fuller with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Braylon Lewis and Darrion Morris each finished with 8 points. The Bears then played eventual tournament champion LaPorte and fell 83-46. KD Reed had 12 points and 7 rebounds, Jonah Fuller had 12 points, and Dane Hawk finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Saturday, the Bears finished the tournament with a 58-32 loss to the Nederland Bulldogs. KD Reed led LCM with 11 points. Coach Smith said the team got better this weekend by playing some of the toughest teams in the area. The Bears are now 7-9 on the season.
LADY BEARS FINISH 2-2 IN ROBINSON TOURNEY
December 14 – The Lady Bears played in the Robinson Varsity Tournament and came away 2-2 and moved their record to 15-3 on the season.. LCM opened the tourney with a 60-19 win over the Whitney Lady Wildcats Thursday night. On Friday, the Lady Bears lost a close one to the West Lady Trojans, 34-37. Keylie Washburn led the way offensively with 23 points while Maya Meadows and Eden Frenzel both finished with 4 points each. The Lady Bears bounced back with a big win over the Marble Falls Lady Mustangs, 41-34. The teams were tied at 29 heading into the final quarter before the Lady Bears pulled away by going on a 13-5 run. Keylie Washburn had 14 points and Eden Frenzel had 10 points in the win. On Saturday, LCM fell to the Concordia Lutheran Lady Crusaders 58-29 to close out the tournament. Keylie Washburn scored 10 points, Eden Frenzel finished with 9 points, and Lexi Wright had 4 points.
BOYS SOCCER OPENS SEASON WITH WIN
December 13 (LCM) – The Bears varsity opened their season with a big 7-0 win over the Hamshire Fannett Longhorns on Friday night. Luke Levens scored 4 goals, Aydan Nabor scored 2 goals, and Lalo Espinoza scored 1 goal. It was a great match for the Bears (1-0).
