TRACK & FIELD HOSTS ANNUAL BEAR RELAYS
March 27 (LCM) – The LCM Track & Field teams hosted the annual Bear Relays Thursday at Battlin’ Bear Stadium. Both the Bears and Lady Bears came away with first place overall. Individual results for the Lady Bears are as follows: Paisley Angelle (1st place in the 100m Hurdles), Briance Barclay (5th place in the Long Jump and 4th place in the Triple Jump), Sarah Barnes (2nd place in the Pole Vault), Kinsley Doucet (5th place in the Discus), Cyra Johnson (3rd place in the 400m Dash), Janet Le (1st place in the 100m Dash), Braxtyn McClain (2nd place in the 100m Hurdles and 4th place in the 300m Hurdles), Ashlynn Mobbs (5th place in the Pole Vault), Jaiden Romar (2nd place in the Shot Put), Mallory Russell (2nd place in the High Jump), Olivia Scheiderer (6th place in the Triple Jump and 400m Dash), Emily Smith (3rd place in the 3200m Run and 6th place in the 1600m Run), Sarah Taylor (1st place in the Triple Jump, 3rd place in the Long Jump, and 4th place in the High Jump), Dinah Tippins (1st place in the Long Jump), Lillie Vitale (5th place in the 800m Run), and Allyson Welch (2nd place in the 3200m Run). The team of Janet Le, Brianca Barclay, Zay Epps, and Maya Meadows won the 4x1 Relay. Meadows, Dinah Tippins, Epps, and Barclay won the 4x2 Relay. Cyra Johnson, Allyson Welch, Braxtyn McClain, and Olivia Sheiderer took second in the 4x4 Relay.
BEARS CLAIM DISTRICT TITLE – GRIZZAFFI WINS GIRLS TITLE
March 27 (Beaumont) – The Bears and Lady Bears golf teams competed in the 18-4A district tournament Wednesday and Thursday at Bayou Din Golf Course. The Bears (above) came in first overall and are the 18-4A Boys District Champions. Junior Maddox Manuel also placed second individually. The Lady Bears (below) placed second as a team and Cassie Grizzaffi came in first individually and is the 18-4A Girls District Champion. Both teams qualified for Regionals.
PHELPS NAMED BEARS AOW
March 24 – Congratulations to senior, Carson Phelps for being selected as the LCM Bears Athlete of the Week. Last Friday, Carson became a State Champion Powerlifter by winning the 308 lb. weight class of the THSPA Division II State Championship. He earned this by lifting a squat of 765 lbs., a bench press of 550 lbs., & a deadlift of 585 lbs. for a total of 1900 lbs. Carson is the first powerlifting state champion since 2015, and is only the 3rd male lifter in school history to earn a State Championship.
ERICKSON SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW
March 24 – Congratulations to junior, Tessa Erickson for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. In the last two district games, Tessa has batted 8 times with 4 hits, including 4 RBI’s and 1 home run. She got the win over Jasper where she pitched 5 innings and gave up 0 earned runs on 1 hit, 1 walk, and 9 strike outs. Against Bridge City, Tessa pitched two innings and struck out 4 of the 7 batters she faced.

LADY BEARS REMAIN PERFECT IN DISTRICT PLAY
March 21 (Bridge City) – The Lady Bears remain perfect in district play as they beat the Bridge City Lady Cardinals 11-1 in Bridge City Friday night. Ella Stephenson got the win in the circle, going 5 innings giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits, 0 walks and 7 strike outs. Offense for LCM is as follows: Eden Frenzel went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Kendall Jones went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Lexis Moss went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s. Tessa Erickson went 3 for 5 with a solo home run and 3 RBI’s. Keylie Washburn went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored Jillian Brown went 3 for 5 with 1 RBI. Kinsley Doucette went 1 for 1 with a double and 1 RBI. Abby Sepulvado went 3 for 5 and scored twice. Ella Stephenson went 1 for 3. The Lady Bears are now 20-4-1 overall and 6-0 in district.

March 20 (Abilene) – LCM’s Carson Phelps (above with Coach Snoddy) is the 2025 4A 308# State Powerlifting Champion. Phelps won the title at the State Powerlifting Meet Thursday morning in Abilene.
