TIPPINS SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW

May 5 – Congratulations to junior, Dinah Tippins for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. Last week, Dinah competed in the 200M Dash at the UIL 4A State Track Meet. In her classification, she finished as the 6th fastest girl in the state of Texas! Dinah’s performance produced a personal best time and broke her previous school record. 

TIPPINS FINISHES 6TH AT STATE

May 1 (Austin) – Junior Dinah Tippins finished 6th in the 200m Dash and the 4A Track & Field State Championship in Austin. Her time of 24.60 was a PR and a new LCM school record in the event. 

PHELPS SELECTED BEARS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

April 21 – Congratulations to senior Carson Phelps for being selected as the LCM Bears Athlete of the Week. On Saturday, Carson competed in the 4A Region 3 Track Meet. He entered as the 6th seed in Shot Put and was determined to finish in a higher spot. Carson improved with every throw and ended up having 4 PRs that day! His best throw was 49’9”, 3 feet further than his previous PR! Carson finished in 5th place overall as a Regional Finalist.

BARCLAY SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW

April 14 – Congratulations to freshman, Brianca Barclay for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. Brianca has played a big role on the track team, competing in 5 events the majority of this season. At the Area Meet, she earned a gold medal for the 4x2 Relay and silver medals for the 4x1 Relay & 200M Dash—making her a Regional Qualifier in 3 events! Brianca also had a personal best time in the 200M Dash, and was a member of both relay teams that set two new school records last week.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD AREA RESULTS

April 10 (Orange) – The Bears Track & Field team competed in the Area Meet Thursday afternoon. Lincoln Gaulden took first place in the 110m Hurdles and third place in the 300m Hurdles. Gaulden qualifed for the Regional Meet in both events. Carson Phelps also qualfied for the Regional Meet by taking third place in the Shot Put. Other results are as follows: Cazador Edgerton (5th place in the 3200m Run) – the relay team of PJ Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jakson Struwe finished in 6th place in the 4x100 and 4x200 – the 4x400 team of Jackson Smith, Taylor Castaneda, KD Reed, and Co’Ryan Kemp finished in 5 place and set a PR by 8 seconds.

April 7 – Congratulations to freshman, Lincoln Gaulden for being selected as the LCM Bears Athlete of the Week. Last week, Lincoln competed in the District 18-4A Track Meet. Dealing with some hip flexor tightness on day one, he was still able to qualify for the finals in both the 110M & 300M Hurdles. Lincoln rehabbed his hip flexor and finished day two as the 2025 110M Hurdles District Champion with a new PR. He also placed 3rd in the 300M Hurdles with his second PR of the day.

Dinah won 3 gold medals for the 200M Dash, 4x2 Relay, & Long Jump, making her the District Champion in these events. She also earned a silver medal for the 100M Dash, and was named the District 18-4A High Point Girl for the second year in a row.

TRACK & FIELD COMPETES IN DISTRICT MEET – LADY BEARS CHAMPS AGAIN

April 2 (Bridge City) – On Monday and Tuesday the Battlin’ Bear Track & Field teams competed in the UIL 4A District 18 Track Meet. The Lady Bears won the district championship for the third year in a row with a team total of 187 points. Both the boys and girls teams had several district champions and also several athletes advancing to the Area Meet.

Here are the results for the Lady Bears: In the 3200m Run, Allyson Welch (2nd place), Emily Smith (3rd place), and Kenzie Smith (6th place). In the High Jump, Mallory Russell (2nd place), Marley Hyman (4th place), and Sarah Taylor (6th place). In the Pole Vault, Janet Le (1st place) and Sarah Barnes (3rd place). In the Long Jump, Dinah Tippins (1st place) and Sarah Taylor (6th place). In the Triple Jump, Sarah Taylor (3rd place) and Brianca Barclay (6th place). In the 4x1 Relay, Janet Le, Brainca Barclay, Zay’Audria Epps, and Maya Meadows took 1st place. Paisley Angelle placed 2nd in the 100m Hurdles. In the 100m Dash, Dinah Tippins (2nd place) and Janet Le (4th place). Maya Meadows, Dinah Tippins, Zay’Audria Epps, and Brianca Barclay took 1st place in the 4x2 Relay. In the 300m Hurdles, Paisley Angelle (1st place) and Braxtyn Mcclain (5th place). In the 200m Dash, Dinah Tippins (1st place), Brianca Barclay (2nd place), and Janet Le (4th place). In the 1600m Run, Allyson Welch (2nd place), Emily Smith (3rd place), and Kenzie Medina (4th place). Cyra Johnson, Maya Meadows, Braxtyn McClain, and Paisley Angelle finished 3rd. Dinah Tippins was the High Point Girl.

Preston Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jakson Stuwe finished 4th in the 4x1 Relay. Cazador Edgerton placed 6th in the 800m Run. Lincoln Gaulden took 1st in the 110m Hurdles. In the 100m Dash, Jakson Struwe (2nd place) and Preston Smith (5th place). Preston Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jakson Struwe took 3rd in the 4x2 Relay. Co’Ryan Kemp placed 5th in the 400m Dash. In the 300m Hurdles, Lincoln Gaulden (3rd place) and Brynnen Manning (6th place). Cazador Edgerton placed 5th in the 1600m Run. Jackson Smith, Taylor Castaneda, KD Reed, and Co’Ryan Kemp placed 2nd in the 4x4 Relay.

March 27 (LCM) – The LCM Track & Field teams hosted the annual Bear Relays Thursday at Battlin’ Bear Stadium. Both the Bears and Lady Bears came away with first place overall. Cyra Johnson, Allyson Welch, Braxtyn McClain, and Olivia Sheiderer took second in the 4x4 Relay.

March 13 (Orangefield) – The LCM Track & Field teams took part in the Mike Gentry Bobcat Relays in Orangefield Thursday. The Lady Bears claimed first place for the second meet in a row. March 10 – Congratulations to junior Janet Le for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athletes of the Week. At the Vidor Track Meet, Janet medaled in all 4 events she competed in. She helped her team win 1st place overall by earning 3 gold medals for pole vault & two relays, and a silver medal for the 200M dash.

February 27 (Bridge City) – Bear Track & Field had a solid meet Thursday afternoon at the Cardinal Relays. Results for the Bears are as follows: Carson Phelps (2nd place in the Shot Put), Eddie Winters (5th place in the Discus), Isaac Pinder (5th place in the Pole Vault), Kamron Livingston (4th place in the 3200m), Jakson Struwe (3rd place in the 200m and 6th place in the 100m), Cazador Edgerton (5th place in the 800m), Lincoln Gaulden (4th place in the 110m Hurdles and 4th place in the 300m Hurdles), and Taylor Castenada (6th place in the 400m). In the relays, PJ Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jayden Johnson finished 5th in the 4x100. Smith, Morris, Reed, and Co’Ryan Kemp finished 4th in the 4x200. In the 4x400, Kemp, Edgerton, Reed, and Castenada finished 5th. The Lady Bears finshed second overall. ANGELLE SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW

February 24 – Congratulations junior Paisley Angelle for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. In the first track meet of the season, Paisley appeared to have not skipped a beat since coming off a successful sophomore season that included trips to Austin for Texas Relays & the State Track Meet. Paisley dominated the two events she competed in, earning gold medals for both the 100M Hurdles & the 300M Hurdles.

February 20 (Port Neches) – The LCM Track & Field teams began their 2025 season at the Joe Williamson Relays at PNG. The Bears results are as follows: Carson Phelps (3rd place in the Shotput), Eddie Winters-Wilhite (4th place in the Discus and 6th place in the Shotput), Isaac Pinder (4th place in the Pole Vault), Brynnen Manning (4th place in the Long Jump), Kamron Livingston (4th place in the 3200m Run), Cazador Edgerton (1st place in the 800m Run), Lincoln Gaulden (4th place in the 110m Hurdles and 6th place in the 300m Hurdles), Taylor Castenada (3rd place in the 400m Run), and Cohen Kalena (5th place in the 400m Run). PJ Smith, J’Lynn Morris, Braylon Morris, and Co’Ryan Kemp took 5th in the 4x100 and 3rd in the 4x200.
