Individual Scholarships by Various Organizations and Groups

Some Local Organizations have LCMHS distribute application forms to seniors mid-February during their economics or government class periods. These completed applications are due to the Counseling Office by March deadline and will then be returned to the various organizations.  Those scholarship recipients are announced at Scholarship Night.

Other organizations are listed below and have different deadlines. Be sure to check with your parents’ workplace, organizations you belong to, and local religious organizations as they often have scholarships available.

Students who receive any scholarship OFFERS from colleges, organizations, etc., need to turn in proof of the offer to the Counseling Office to be recognized at Scholarship Night and included in the total amount offered for their graduating class.

College Board Opportunity Scholarships
Applying to college is a complicated process, so this program guides you through it. It doesn't require an essay, application, or minimum GPA. Instead, it rewards your effort and initiative. Complete key steps along your path to college for a chance to earn scholarships. Complete steps on BigFuture to explore careers, plan for college, and pay for college. When you complete them, you'll be entered into monthly drawings for our $500 and $40,000 scholarships!​ The more effort you put in, the more opportunities you have to earn a scholarship. Complete all six, and you’re eligible to earn $40,000. Scholarships will be awarded through monthly drawings to students who complete each action.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS – arranged by application deadline (once deadline passes, scholarship info will be crossed off until the next year)

 

  • Gates Scholarship
    Deadline: September 15, 2024
    The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential. Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by a Scholar’s college or university.   • Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
    Deadline: ​ September 30, 2024
    The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is an achievement-based scholarship for graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. Each year 150 students are selected to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Application and information found here.

     
  • AES Scholarship
    Deadline: October 8, 2024
    Achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason, the consulting firm of AES Engineers is offering a $500 scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. This award is available to all students, regardless of their field of study--You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: "When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?" More information available

  • Heisman High School Scholarship
    Deadline: October 17, 2023

    To be eligible, seniors must (a) have a high school GPA of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale), (b) participate or have participated in baseball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, cheerleading, tennis, track & field, volleyball, or weightlifting, and (c) be a leader in school and in the community and serve as a role model for underclassmen.   • Voice of Democracy (VFW)
    Deadline: October 31, 2024
    The Voice of Democracy is open to 9-12 graders. Prizes and scholarships are awarded at the Post, District, state, and national level. State winners receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C. More than $2 million in scholarships and incentives is awarded each year. This year’s competition will be writing and recording an audio essay on the 2024-2025 theme of “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?” The application is available here. More information is available here.

     
  • Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards
    Deadline: November 3, 2024
    The Youth Awards honor Latino high school seniors who excel in the classroom and community and for their excellence in various categories including: Business & Finance, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Education, Healthcare & Science, Media & Entertainment, Social Justice and Technology. Eligibility: Be currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2025; must have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; must enroll at an accredited higher education institution; be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines); if selected, attendance to virtual regional awards ceremony is mandatory; and be a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under the DACA.  For more details, visit Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
     
  • Elks National Foundation Scholarships
    • 2025 Most Valuable Student Scholarship
      Deadline: November 12, 2024
      The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2022 competition. Open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify. Male and female students compete separately. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. More information available here.

    • 2025 Legacy Awards 
      Application opens September 1, 2024 – Due online by February 3, 2025
      Open to a high school senior who is the child or grandchild of an Elks member. 250 students who exhibit the values of the Elks National Foundation will be awarded a scholarship to support their college education. More info available here.

       

  • ​Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship
    Application Deadline: November 14, 2024 
    The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational experience – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. More information about the scholarship and application process can be located here
     
  • Ron Brown Scholar Program
    Application Deadline: December 1, 2024
    To be eligible, students must be seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are Black/African American and demonstrate academic achievement, exhibit leadership ability, participate in community service activities and have a demonstrated financial need. Several 4-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year)  will be awarded. More information and application available here.
     
  • Hagan Scholarship Foundation
    Deadline: December 1, 2024
    This nationwide need-based merit scholarship provides recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. It is worth up to $7,500 each semester (up to $60,000). Eligibility requirements: must have 3.5 GPA, must enroll in eligible 4-year college/university after high school, must have Adjusted Gross Household Income of $100,000 or less.   • Equitable Excellence Scholarship
    Deadline: December 18, 2024, 3:00 PM CT,
    Applicants to the Equitable Excellence Scholarship must demonstrate courage, strength and wisdom as shown by community impact through volunteer service; be high school seniors planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States; and be a United States citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico. Equitable will provide 100 $5,000 annual scholarships that will be renewed to award recipients each academic year for four years, for a total of $20,000 per recipient. The company will also award 100 one-time $2,500 scholarships that can help students to underwrite immediate costs associated with higher education such as tuition, books or room and board. For more information and application form, click here.
     
  • GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
    Application Deadline: January 3, 2025
    This national program awards college scholarships to high school seniors who embody the characteristics of president Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home. Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program and receive ongoing leadership-development support.More information, eligibility requirements, and an online application can be found online here
     
  • Live Más Scholarship (Taco Bell) 
    Application Deadline: January 8, 2025
    The Taco Bell Foundation will be awarding $10 million in Live Más Scholarships, with $2 million being awarded for Taco Bell restaurant employees. Submit a video (2 minutes or less in length) that answers specific questions. For more information, click

  • Profile in Courage Essay Contest
    Application Deadline: January 17, 2025

    Grades 9-12 eligible. Write an original and creative essay that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage–-Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. official who served during or after 1917, the year of JFK’s birth. Essays must be between 700-1,000 words and include a bibliography of at least five varied, reliable sources. First place: $10,000; Second place: $3,000; Five finalists: $1,000 each; Ten semi-finalists: $100 each. More information available here.
     
  • Texas Farm Credit Scholarship
    Application Deadline: January 15, 2025. More information is available here.
    2025 online application (preferred) available here 
    • Ag Champ – Each of the 18 Texas Farm Credit branches (one in Beaumont) will select one local student who will be awarded a $1,000 academic grant and the title of Ag Champ. In addition, each Ag Champ will also have a $1,000 contribution made in their honor to their FFA chapter or 4-H club.
    • Marsha Martin – Texas Farm Credit will present $5,000 postsecondary scholarships to ten future ag leaders. Winners will be announced in May. The annual scholarship program is named in honor of Paris, Texas, native Marsha Pyle Martin, a strong advocate for youths and agriculture who passed away in 2000 following a 30-year Farm Credit career.
       
  • Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) Scholarship
    Deadline: January 31, 2025
    FOSSI will fund 4-year scholarships of $10,000 per year, provide internship opportunities, and facilitate mentoring and leadership training for students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (list of HBCUs).   • Texas Student Housing 2025-2026 Scholarship Application (for 2025 High School Graduates)
    Application Deadline: January 31, 2025 
    Scholarship is open to students accepted to colleges in College Station or Denton who have NOT signed off-campus leases. (Texas Woman's University and University of North Texas may limit scholarships to upperclassmen who can live off campus). More information is available here.   • Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarships
    Application Deadline: February 7, 2025 for online portions for *most* scholarships (Opens December 16, 2024)
    Applicants must be a graduating high school senior at an eligible school, be a U.S. citizen and Texas resident, complete the FAFSA, and plan to attend an accredited public university in Texas. Several different types of scholarships are available. More information, guidelines, and eligibility available here.
    • ​Area Go Texan – must reside in one of the 68 counties – including Orange
    • Exhibitor – for students who participated or exhibited for two of the last four years
    • Hildebrand – Participate as an exhibitor in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Junior Market Lamb Show.
    • Military – attend high school in one of several counties, including Orange, and be a dependent of a service member in active duty, reserve, honorably discharged veteran or the National Guard.
    • School Art – Have artwork judged by School Art Committee judges in a participating school district show their senior academic year, or have been selected to compete in the Quick Draw Competition during their senior academic year.

  • UIL H-E-B Scholarship
    Application Deadline: January 31, 2025

    H-E-B will award 15 high school seniors who participated in UIL competitions—5 in athletics, 5 in music, and 5 in academic—with a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of their community service and involvement in their communities. Applicants must be a current Texas high school senior graduating in 2025 with a minimum 3.3 GPA (on 4.0 scale), have participated in a UIL competition as a high school student and have been active in community service programs or events. Applicants must provide number of community service hours in last 12 months, community service verification letter, letter of recommendation, and a short (500 word or less) essay on “What does Community mean to you?” More information about scholarship here; scholarship application here.
     
  • Key Club Scholarship
    Application Deadline: February 1, 2025
    The Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation Key Club Scholarship applicant must be a senior, registered and attending the 2025 Key Club LEDCON. Applicants must submit official transcript, SAT/ACT scores if available, resume, and one-page statement of educational plans and objectives. More information available here
     
  • Texas Rural Water Foundation Student Scholarship
    Application Deadline: February 5, 2025
    Scholarship recognizes students in their pursuit of higher education and a potential career in the water and/or wastewater industry or a career that will support rural Texas. Scholarship no longer limited to employees of TRWA or their family; however, they will receive extra points. More information available here.
     
  • Jasper-Newton Electric Scholarship
    Application Deadline: February 7, 2025 
    Fourteen scholarships are available – Two 4-year $8,000 scholarships ($1,000/semester); eleven 1-year $2,000 scholarships; one 1-year $1,000 Director’s Scholarship. Recipients must be graduating high school seniors who reside full-time with parents or guardians who are members of Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative and are currently receiving electric service from the Cooperative at their primary residence. This includes seniors whose parent/guardian is a Pastor of a church and reside in the parsonage full-time where service is in the church’s name and provided by JNEC. Students must be in top 25%, in honors program, or in college prep program. Applications judged on financial need, seriousness of purpose, desire to improve and grow, support of community and family life goals, and content of essay. Application form available here.
     
  • SEG Foundation Scholarship
    Application for opens November 1; Deadline: March 1, 2025
    High school senior who plans to enter college in the fall or an undergraduate/graduate college student with above average grades and intends to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics or closely related field, such as geosciences, physics, geology, or earth and environmental sciences. A total of 118 awards ranging from $500 to $14,000 each available. More information available here.
     
  • Texas Farm Bureau Scholarships
    Application Deadline: March 3, 2025
    Three available scholarships to high school students who are members of a Texas Farm Bureau family, with membership remaining current during duration of scholarship. To become a member, sign up here. Scholarship information can be found here.

  • Rave Financial Scholarship
    Application Deadline: March 8, 2024
    Rave Financial is awarding 8 $2,500 scholarship to its members who are graduating high school and plan to seek higher education. (Not a member? Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Tyler, Chambers,Liberty, Galveston, Harris, Montgomver, San Jancinto, Polk, Angelina, San Augustine, and Sabine counties.)   • LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS
    Deadline: Friday, March 14, 2025
    Application forms distributed to seniors mid-February during their economics or government class periods.
     
  • Horatio Alger Association
    As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income).     • State Scholarships - Deadline: December 1-March 15
      State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders State criteria found here.
    • National Scholarship Program - Deadline: December 1-March 15
      For JUNIORS. Awards 106 $25,000 scholarships to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference.  Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award.   • PGA Reach Southern Texas High School Scholarship
    Deadline: March 22, 2024
    Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, and financial need, not on golf accomplishments or ability. Recipients are selected to receive scholarships solely based on the items submitted with this application. There are different scholarships offered, but only one form necessary! You will be automatically sorted depending on which scholarships you qualify for. More information and the application form are available here.
     
  • Orange County Republican Party Scholarship
    Deadline: March 19, 2023
    Two applicants will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must be residents of Orange County, be registered to vote if of elegible age, and be a graduating senior. Top candidates will must attend the OCRP monthly meeting on April 25, 2023. Application form and more information available

  • Orange (TX) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 2024 Scholarship
    Deadline: March 22, 2024
    The Sorority was founded to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence, to provide scholarships, to provide support to the underserved, to educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy, and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems in their communities. Graduating LCM or WOS seniors with a GPA of 2.75 on 4.0 scale who plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university are qualified to apply. The application must include a copy of your high school transcript and two letters of recommendation from the principal or faculty member and church or community leader.  More information and the application form can be found here.

     
  • Women in Industry Scholarship
    Deadline: March 25, 2024 (extended from March 1)
    Southeast Texas Women in Industry has established the Women in Industry scholarship to support graduating senior women from LCM or Vidor who plan to puruse a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). The funds will be used to cover the cost of tuition, books/supplies, and room and board. Must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale).   • Capital Farm Credit Scholarship
    Deadline: Received by March 29, 2024
    Capital Farm Credit will award one $1,000 one-time scholarship to a high school senior. Applicants must demonstrate their educational plans/goals are related to fields in agriculture or natural resources (may include Ag Communications, Ag Economics/Business, Ag Education, Wildlife or Ranch Management, etc.) Funds used to attend an accredited vocational or technical school, college, or university full time.   • Junior League of Beaumont – Women Building Better Communities Award
    Application Deadline: March 31, 2024
    A $1,000 scholarship is available to one female high school senior who has demonstrated her commitment to voluntarism. The winner will be chosen based on volunteer activities, demonstrated impact of volunteer efforts, continued commitment to voluntarism, and references. The application is available here.
     
  • Education First Credit Union Scholarship
    Application Deadline: March 31, 2024
    Education First will award $25,000 in scholarships to 10 area seniors. Applicants must be members of Education First Federal Credit Union and have a 3.25 GPA (on 4.0 scale). Applicants must submit two letters of recommencation. More information and application form available here.
     
  • MCT Credit Union Scholarship
    Application Deadline: March 31, 2024
    MCT Credit Union will award nine scholarships throughout Southeast Texas in the amount of $2,000 each to graduates who plan to continue their education at a trade school, 2-year or 4-year accredited college no later than the fall session after graduation. Must be member of MCT Credit Union. More information and the application form are available here.  

     
  • Lisa Messina Colten Memorial Scholarship
    Application Deadline: Must be received via mail by April 1, 2024
    A $500 scholarship will assist in providing support to a student who possesses the potential to carry on as a positive role model in the Italian-American community of Southeast Texas. Application will include a statement on how your Italian heritage has shaped, played a role in, and/or influenced your life. Application form available in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • Wellspring Credit Union Scholarship
    Deadline: April 1, 2024
    Applicants must be a graduating high school senior planning to attend or enrolled at Lamar State College-Orange with a 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale). Selection committee considers academic achievement, character, and leadership. A 250-word essay must be included. Application form available here.  
     
  • Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
    Deadline: April 1, 2024
    Scholarships of $10,000 per student to 100 recipients – renewable each year (up to $40,000 per student), open to individuals studying engineering, computer science, math and physics fields that demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. Qualified applicants will be current high school seniors with a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA, or current college freshmen or sophomores with a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA; planning to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college; demonstrate financial need.   • Bridge City Animal Hospital Scholarship 
    Application Deadline: April 1, 2025
    The Bridge City Animal Hospital is offering a $1,000 scholarship to an Orange County senior planning to attend college/vocational school and major in animal science or a veterinary-related program. Application form available in Counselors Office.
     
  • Texas Department of Transportation Conditional Grant Program 
    Application Deadline: April 1, 2024
    A grant that will provide financial assistance to eligible economically disadvantaged Texas students interested in working for the Texas Department of Transportation. The grant consists of tuition, fees and stipend. Qualified applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or 900 SAT or 21 ACT, plan to attend a four-year Texas college full-time, intend to major in civil engineering or department-approved operational business discipline, and work for the department for two years immediately after college graduation.   • Better Business Bureau Student of Integrity Scholarship
    Application Deadline: April 5, 2024
    BBB SETX Consumer Education Foundation’s “Student of Integrity” Scholarships available for high school seniors in SE Texas counties of Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, Tyler, and the Bolivar Peninsula. Scholarship recognizes seniors who personify high ethics demonstrated through leadership, overall personal integrity, and academic history. Six (6) scholarships  for $2,500 each will be awarded.  Application and more information available here.  

     
  • Jefferson/Orange County Farm Bureau Scholarship
    Deadline: April 5, 2024
    The Jefferson/Orange County Farm Bureau Scholarship Program will provide up to three (3) $2,000 scholarships to seniors graduating from high school in Jefferson or Orange county. At least one scholarship will be awarded to a student from each county and one scholarship at large. Applicants must be a member of FFA, 4-H, or have a parent who is a current member of Texas Farm Bureau. Application form available in the Counselors Office.

     
  • Dalton W. Horn Memorial Scholarship
    Deadline: April 5, 2024
    The Dalton W. Horn Memorial Scholarship will provide up to eight (8) $5,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and upperclassmen. Applicants must graduate from a high school in Chambers, Hardin, Jefferson, Liberty, or Orange County. Consideration will be given to FFA or 4-H members planning to major in an agriculture-related field. Application form available in the Counselors Office. 

     
  • DuGood Federal Credit Union Scholarship Giveaway
    Deadline: 
    April 8, 2024
    Ten Southeast Texas high school students will be awarded $1,000 scholarships. They must be a graduating senior planning to attend college/trade school and be a primary member of DuGood in good standing (can open a saving account with $5). To enter, students must complete the online application form. More information online

     
  • Ed T. & Marjorie H Malloy Founation Fine Arts Scholarship
    Application Deadline to Ms. Brown: April 10, 2025
    The Malloy Foundation of Orange, TX, is awarding a $6,000 Fine Arts scholarship to one Orange County high school senior choosing to major in one of these disciplines – Music (choral, band, orchestra), Theatre, Dance, or Art. Application form available in Counselors Office.
     
  • Sabine Federal Credit Union Scholarship
    Deadline: April 12, 2024
    Sabine Federal Credit Union will award twelve local high school seniors with a $1,500 scholarship. Applicants must be a member in good standing (can open an account). Application available in Counselors Office or you can download here

     
  • Southeast Texas Independent Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship
    Deadline: April 12, 2024
    SETICA will provide four (4) $1,500 scholarships to four outstanding students graduating this spring from any high school in Chambers, Galveston, Hardin, Jefferson, Liberty, or Orange counties.   • Mauriceville Heritage Association Scholarships
    Deadline: Must be received by 4 p.m. on April 15, 2024
    Five $1,000 scholarships are available in Orange County for seniors attending any Orange County high school. Applications should be seniors with a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities and participation in extracurricular school activities, must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale) and plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college/technical school. Recipients are required to be at the Crawfish Bash Saturday, May 5, 2024, to receive the award.  Application available in the Counselors’ Office.
     
  • Hattman Family Theater Scholarship
    Deadlie: April 15, 2022
    Eligible students will be gratduating high school seniors/currently enrolled students who have declared a theater major or minor in good academic standing (minimum 2.5/4.0 GPA). Applications must be a past of present Orange Community Players participant and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship applicatio form is available in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • Orange Lions Club Scholarship
    Deadline: Friday, April 19, 2024 – to Counselors’ Office by 3 p.m.
    Scholarship based primarily on financial need. Other factors such as academic performance and extracurricular activities will be considered. Form available in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • Texas SnoStorms Scholarship
    Deadline: April 21, 2023
    As a local business, Texas SnoStorms is excited to invest in the future of the community and is offering a $500 scholarship to an Orange County senior. Applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA (on 4.0 scale) and be attending Lamar State College-Orange in the fall. Applicants must submit a 300-word essay, double-spaced, describing why they are proud to be from Orange County. Application is available in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • Leesha Roy Memorial Softball Scholarship
    Application Deadline: April 25, 2025
    The Southeast Texas USA (ASA) District 39 Umpire Association has a $1,000 scholarship for a high school senior who has/is currently planing USA softball. Application form available in Counselors Office.

     
  • Barbara LaVergne Education Scholarship  (Orange County)
    Deadline: April 30, 2024
    This scholarship is not limited to one area of study but is open to any student wishing to further their education or acquire a trade and is open to all high school students in the Orange County area that have a 2.5 or greater GPA (transcript required). Candidates are asked to complete an application as well as a 500 (or more) word essay explaining their hopes and dreams outside of continuing their education. Form is available in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • AMVETS Children/Grandchildren Scholarship
    Deadline: April 30, 2024  
    Graduating high school senior who is the child or grandchild of a United States veteran, active duty, or guard/reserve. Applicant must be U.S. citizen, be able to demonstrate academic promise and financial need, and authorize AMVETS to publicize the award if selected. Scholarships offered up to $4,000 available.. More information available here.

     
  • MJO Memorial Scholarship Honoring J.L. and Laverne Mathews
    Deadline: May 1, 2024
    J.L. and Laverne Mathews’ financial assistance was instrumental in establishing Mathews Jewelers. Applicants must be an Orange County senior and U.S. citizen who has lived in Orange County the last two years and has a C average or better. Application includes a short summary on your plans for after high school graduation and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals. Laverne Mathews was a school teacher for many years – if you plan to pursue a career in education, include how you plan to achieve this goal. J.L. Mathews had a passion for golf. If you are on your school’s golf team, include how golf has influenced your life. Preference may be given to a golfer or education major; however, it is not mandatory and all students will be considered for this scholarship. Application available in the Counselor’s Office.

     
  • Bridge City Bank Scholarship
    Deadine: May 3, 2024 (Hard copies delivered to Bridge City Bank of Orange, 57 Strickland Drive, Orange, TX 77630)
    One LCM senior will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Applicants do not need to have an account at the bank. Application available in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • Texas Interscholastic League Foundation Scholarship
    Deadline: Applications accepted March 1 to May 2024.
    Seniors who competed at the state level in a UIL academic, congressional debate, cross examination debate, one-act play, or theatrical design contest any year of their high school career are eligible. Applicants must plan to attend a Texas college or university, must enroll full-time, and have taken either the SAT or ACT.   • Orange County Go Texan Scholarship
    Deadline: May 10, 2024
    A $2,500 scholarship to recognize, reward and encourage students to continue their educatio. To be eligible to receive this scholarship, the student must be a high school senior attending an Orange County, Texas high school with plans of enrolling as a full-time student at an accredited school. A degree in an agriculture-related academic major is not required. Application form available in Counselors Office.

     
  • Bridge City Red White & You Celebration Scholarship
    Deadline for application: June 3, 2024 / Deadline for artwork: June 28, 2024
    First, Second, and Third place winners will receive $1,000, $750, and $500, respectively. Applicants must be graduating Texas Senior Art Students who have been accepted to a two- or four-year college or art institute. Application available from the HS art teacher or in the Counselors’ Office.

     
  • Horatio Alger Association
    As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.     • ​Career & Technical Scholarship Program – Deadline: Opens March 15 / Due June 15
      Receive up to $2,500 to pursue a career or technical certificate/degree. For students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Over 1,000 scholarships with a maximum award amount of $2,500 available. More information available here.
