TRACK & FIELD COMPETES IN DISTRICT MEET – LADY BEARS CHAMPS AGAIN
April 2 (Bridge City) – On Monday and Tuesday the Battlin’ Bear Track & Field teams competed in the UIL 4A District 18 Track Meet. The Lady Bears won the district championship for the third year in a row with a team total of 187 points. Both the boys and girls teams had several district champions and also several athletes advancing to the Area Meet.
Here are the results for the Lady Bears: In the 3200m Run, Allyson Welch (2nd place), Emily Smith (3rd place), and Kenzie Smith (6th place). In the High Jump, Mallory Russell (2nd place), Marley Hyman (4th place), and Sarah Taylor (6th place). In the Pole Vault, Janet Le (1st place) and Sarah Barnes (3rd place). In the Long Jump, Dinah Tippins (1st place) and Sarah Taylor (6th place). In the Triple Jump, Sarah Taylor (3rd place) and Brianca Barclay (6th place). In the 4x1 Relay, Janet Le, Brainca Barclay, Zay’Audria Epps, and Maya Meadows took 1st place. Paisley Angelle placed 2nd in the 100m Hurdles. In the 100m Dash, Dinah Tippins (2nd place) and Janet Le (4th place). Maya Meadows, Dinah Tippins, Zay’Audria Epps, and Brianca Barclay took 1st place in the 4x2 Relay. In the 300m Hurdles, Paisley Angelle (1st place) and Braxtyn Mcclain (5th place). In the 200m Dash, Dinah Tippins (1st place), Brianca Barclay (2nd place), and Janet Le (4th place). In the 1600m Run, Allyson Welch (2nd place), Emily Smith (3rd place), and Kenzie Medina (4th place). Cyra Johnson, Maya Meadows, Braxtyn McClain, and Paisley Angelle finished 3rd. Dinah Tippins was the High Point Girl.

Preston Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jakson Stuwe finished 4th in the 4x1 Relay. Cazador Edgerton placed 6th in the 800m Run. Lincoln Gaulden took 1st in the 110m Hurdles. In the 100m Dash, Jakson Struwe (2nd place) and Preston Smith (5th place). Preston Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jakson Struwe took 3rd in the 4x2 Relay. Co’Ryan Kemp placed 5th in the 400m Dash. In the 300m Hurdles, Lincoln Gaulden (3rd place) and Brynnen Manning (6th place). Cazador Edgerton placed 5th in the 1600m Run. Jackson Smith, Taylor Castaneda, KD Reed, and Co’Ryan Kemp placed 2nd in the 4x4 Relay.

March 27 (LCM) – The LCM Track & Field teams hosted the annual Bear Relays Thursday at Battlin’ Bear Stadium. Both the Bears and Lady Bears came away with first place overall. March 10 – Congratulations to junior Janet Le for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athletes of the Week. At the Vidor Track Meet, Janet medaled in all 4 events she competed in. She helped her team win 1st place overall by earning 3 gold medals for pole vault & two relays, and a silver medal for the 200M dash.

Results for the Bears are as follows: Carson Phelps (2nd place in the Shot Put), Eddie Winters (5th place in the Discus), Isaac Pinder (5th place in the Pole Vault), Kamron Livingston (4th place in the 3200m), Jakson Struwe (3rd place in the 200m and 6th place in the 100m), Cazador Edgerton (5th place in the 800m), Lincoln Gaulden (4th place in the 110m Hurdles and 4th place in the 300m Hurdles), and Taylor Castenada (6th place in the 400m). ANGELLE SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW
February 24 – Congratulations junior Paisley Angelle for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. In the first track meet of the season, Paisley appeared to have not skipped a beat since coming off a successful sophomore season that included trips to Austin for Texas Relays & the State Track Meet. Paisley dominated the two events she competed in, earning gold medals for both the 100M Hurdles & the 300M Hurdles.
