LADY BEARS CLAIM BI-DISTRICT TITLE
February 10 (Lufkin) – In the 4A D1 playoffs The Lady Bears claimed the Bi-Distict title in round one of the 4A D1 playoffs with a 59-47 win over the Palestine Lady Wildcats in Lufkin Monday night. Keylie Washburn led LCM with 18 points, Eden Frenzel had 13 points, and Maya Meadows had 12 points. The Lady Bears (27-8) advance to the Area round of the playoffs and will face Huffman Hargrave on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 6pm at East Chambers HS.
FORESTER SELECTED BEARS AOW
February 10 – Congratulations to senior Carson Forester for being selected as the LCM Bears Athlete of the Week. Last Friday, Carson competed at the Kountze Tennis Tournament in the Boys A Singles Division. He battled his way to the finals and earned a 2nd place silver medal.
FRENZEL SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW
February 10 – Congratulations to junior Eden Frenzel for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. Eden played a pivotal role in leading the Lady Bears to a double overtime victory over Lumberton and earning the top seed in the 4A D1 Playoffs. Her stellar performance consisted of a career-high 21 points, including 4 made free throws to either tie or take the lead in both overtimes.

February 7 (Vidor) – The Lady Bears took on the Lumberton in a play-in game to decide playoff seedings for the up-coming 4A D1 UIL Playoffs. In a thriller, LCM got the win 50-48 in double overtime earning them the district’s top seed. Junior Eden Frenzel (above) led the Lady Bears with 21 points and Keylie Washburn finished with 19 points, going 15/18 from the free throw line. LCM will play Palestine in the first round of the playoffs Monday at Lufkin Hudson (7:30pm tip-off).
VARSITY TENNIS PLAYS IN KOUNTZE TOURNEY
February 7 (Kountze) – Varsity Bear Tennis had a great showing at the Kountze Tournament Friday afternoon. From L-R, Taylor Huckaby and Jenna Huckaby placed 2nd in the Girls A Doubles Division. Carson Forester placed 2nd in the Boys A Singles Division. Tucker Floyd and Jonah Fuller placed 3rd in the Boys B Doubles Division.

February 6 (Orangefield) – Bear Iron Powerlifting took 1st overall in both the boys and girls division at the Orangefield Bobcat Powerlifting Meet Thursday afternoon. Results for the Bears are as follows: Aiden Snyder (1st-123’s), Gunner Fry (2nd-123’s), Jaxson Phelps (2nd-148’s), Isaac Pinder (3rd-165’s), Dilon Cabrera (2nd-198’s), Eddie Winters-Wilhite (1st-242’s), Van Potter (4th-242’s), Nathan Childress (1st-275’s), Cooper Smith (5th-275’s), and Carson Phelps (1st-308’s). February 6 (Beaumont) – JV Tennis competed in their first tournament Thursday afternoon against Legacy. Corban Broussard and Keaper Elliott placed 3rd in the boys doubles division. Madison Scott and Brayten Moore placed 3rd in the mixed doubles division.
LADY BEARS FINISH 6TH IN VIDOR INVITATIONAL

February 6 (Beaumont) - The Lady Bear golf team played the Vidor Lady Pirates Varsity Invitational Thursday morning at Brentwood Country Club. LCM fired a team score of 437 to finish 6th overall in the 17-team field. Cassie Grizzaffi led the Lady Bears with a round of 100. Following Grizzaffi was Kolbi Fountain with a 108, Kinley Jones with a 113, Bella Ihle with a 116, and Paige McKee with a 121.

February 5 (LCM) – It was Signing Day Wednesday afternoon in the Grove. Six Bear athletes were celebrated for signing to play at the college level next year. February 5 (Mont Belvieu) – The Bears took on a tough Eagle Point Golf Course Wednesday morning and came away with a 6th place finish in the Anahuac Panthers Varsity Golf Invitational.
